Wolfenstein: Youngblood is getting easier. The latest patch balances out the bullet-sponginess of enemies, gives players ammo for basic weapons after they respawn, and adjusts the difficulty of all boss battles.

Additionally, end bosses and Tower missions will get checkpoints, and the patch will increase special weapon ammo drops throughout its more difficult areas. The AI controlling the non-player sister (Soph or Steph Blazkowicz, B.J.’s twin daughters) will also “retreat more often when taking damage from large enemies,” making her less of a burden to human players. She’ll also be better at healing a downed player character.

The patch is available now for Windows PC. Changes will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One versions later.

In the patch notes published today, MachineGames and Arkane Studios Lyon specified that damage done to armored enemies with the incorrect weapon type will now be doubled. “This will result in enemies feeling much less absorptive of damage when the player has the wrong weapon equipped,” they wrote. That said, players are still expected to upgrade their weapons “so as to maximize damage to tough enemies.”

General Winkler’s health has dropped “to be more in line with the difficulty of the Zeppelin level,” and the Tower Gate Guardians have had their levels lowered commensurate to the level of the enemies inside Towers. These areas are still intended for players level 20 or higher.

Will the patch make the game any different, are the additions welcomed? Let us know your thoughts. Be sure to check our review of Wolfenstein: Youngblood review.
